They are wireless but the camera draws power from the running lights, the running lights have to be on to use the camera. That is the way the Furrion pre-wiring works.

Thanks! The trailer is pre-wired for a back up camera. I ordered one from the recommended supplier, Furrion, and I just received it. It's supposed to be a plug N play installation. I have a 2005 Yukon Denali XL and among my trailer collection is a 3,500 pound trailer. The Denali tows it like it isn't even there, you should have no problems at all.
