Re: Added 120 VAC outlet above sink

I also tapped microwave circuit for toaster/coffee pot. I don’t know why ALL AC outlets are on ONE 15A breaker. Well, yes I do … cost. I actually first removed the microwave outlet and thru-the-wall microwave cord and made the connection internally in the microwave space. I modded again to tap the m...

Re: Vortex 2 replacement fan

Yes, I have installed it. I had a non-fan vent only. As far as the Vortex fan goes, it was a simple swap into the same ‘under hole’ as was the vent flashing. I liked not having to mess with the outside cover. It effectively moves the cover control gearing and has its own gear knob. It works, but I s...

Re: Curt Brake controller and camper brake issue

Separate a brake controller issue from a mechanical brake issue: Apply brakes and create the ‘non-disengaged’ condition. Then pull the plug from the brake controller, thus disconnecting it. If brakes disengage, that suggests a brake controller ‘stuck’ situation and the electric brakes are simply doi...

Re: Brake Controller advise

I don’t want to come off as a Richard, but add up the cost of your 2008 Silverado 1500 LS and your 2016 StarCraft ar one 15 rb Camper, and you want to limit the cost of one of the most important control devices to $50?! I mean this with all due respect, my friend. Google Tekonsha 90195 P3 Electronic...

Re: Propane Furnace Cycling

So … sail switch “lies” and signals no air flow (even though there is), so burner shuts off. Sail switch then (later) signals air flow fine, burner re-ignites. Hmm. Is sail switch in the heat path so it could heat up - present faulty no airflow signal - cool after burner quits and then function prop...

Propane Furnace Cycling

I have a question regarding the propane furnace operation. One does not know if there is a problem until one learns “that’s not right”. Many thought of ‘issues’ have been discovered to be ‘normal operation’. BTW, brand new 16RB, and it has always done this. Bear with my verbosity. My propane furnace...

Re: Grease leak not covered by 2-Year Warranty

Thoughts: 1) Knee jerk reaction by most manufactures to initially deny claims for some reason; maybe you’ll pay. 2) When is the maintenance for this area specified? For instance, if it should be done in 6 months and you waited a year, it would be beyond the specified maintenance interval, and it wou...

Re: 16rb - leak

My 16RB leak in that area was the furnace exhaust. I removed the exterior metal shield and RTVed the plastic insert, then replaced the metal shield. Never determined that was the leak, but the factory sealing looked suspect, and after my repair, I never had the leak again. My leak was the floor unde...

Re: Need Sugestions For Problems

In trying to be brief, I may not have explained well. For the black tank, we have no odor during use as the toilet seal flap is sealing well. It’s when I go to clean (and lock the flap open); the odors escape as I flush the tank. Not really a problem, except I have heard about the additives used whe...

Need Sugestions For Problems

Ok, so I need some recommendations for my Starcraft 16RB. First, my mini-rant. I have had to rebuild/repair so many poor workmanship related items that cause me to be disappointed in the build quality. But, I understand this is a lower priced unit, and I enjoy what I got for the price I paid. But st...
