I do have mine adjusted every season or so.
Always a dealer issue for me, so no help on the do-it-yourself.
I would say that yes, you do need to have them adjusted after the initial break in period.

No experience with them, but I can understand the theory. It is always claimed (have not had experience with bumper failure), the the weld between the trailer frame, and the bumper fails by pulling away due to the lever action of a bike rack for instance. It would make sense that these would reinfor...

That peeling wallpaper is usually a fairly easy repair with a little clear sealant.
I would be more concerned with the flexing for the shower basin. I don't think it should flex much if at all.
