Re: Rear View Camera

Not sure what kind of camera you have, but you'll need one that "mirrors" the image, like a backup camera does.

Re: Water Heater Melting Fridge cover

Here's what I came up with to deflect my water heater's hot exhaust. It's something called a BBQ Grill Mat and is some kind of high temperature plastic/teflon. It's for laying over a grill grate to make cleanup easier. Supposed to be good up to 480 degrees. I cut off a piece 5" x 13" and inserted it...

Re: Water Heater Melting Fridge cover

I have to take what I said back - about my frig plastic vent not getting hot enough to deform it from the hot water vent below. Actually, it is showing signs of melting. My wife was using hot water and it was really blowing super hot air out the vent, and it was rising right up into the frig intake ...

Re: Water Heater Melting Fridge cover

Wow - I'm not seeing that "yet" on our Launch 24rls. Our plastic frig vent cover is right above the metal water heater cover, and there isn't any gap between them. I can see a potential problem if the water heater runs a long time. I know its metal cover gets too hot too touch. Do you use a lot of h...

Added 120 VAC outlet above sink

My wife likes to sit our coffee maker on the metal cover over the kitchen range to the left of the sink, but all the outlets are to the right of the sink and too far away. I can't imagine why Starcraft didn't include an outlet to the left of the sink. Anyway, that was my project yesterday. Tracing o...

Re: Rear View Camera

A camera system almost pays for itself with the money I used to spend on TUMS driving in congested areas like the Boston area where we are presently camped.

Re: Rear View Camera

The Pioneer camera was $99. The adapter cable was $7.95 and the 10' RCA cable was $9. So, $116 for the parts to add a rear view camera to my GPS. I already had the GPS. It cost $250 on sale last winter.

Rear View Camera

My 24rls came equipped with a base mount for a Furrion camera on the rear of the trailer, but I didn't want to spend $400 for a wireless camera with a small 4.3" monitor. Over the years I've tried several backup cameras, but none have ever worked out long term. I mainly wanted to use them to see wha...

Re: Water Heater not working on electric

My 2016 24rls has a propane only Atwood water heater. I know they make an electric model, but as far as I know it's not available as a Starcraft factory option. From what I've heard the 120 volt electric water heaters take forever to heat up and don't get very hot.
