Just my experience, Ram 1500's have always had soft rears ends. FIL has had a couple and every one was like that.

Towing issues ?

Post by Dcm1379 » May 6th, 2018, 10:12 pm

I tow a 2018 starcraft autumn ridge outfitter 26bhs with a 2017 ram 1500 quad cab. the ride in somewhat unstable trailer rocks and sways seems to be alot of movement back there.

Trailer weight is 5800 dry and gross of 7500lbs according to starcraft I don't know the exact weight of the trailer but tongue weight is about 850lbs originally had the wrong bars on the WD hitch but now have the proper ones and it does tow quite a bit nicer but there is still alot of movement.
I added some more gear to the trailer to heavy it up not to much just a 100-200 lbs with the new bars and it did help.
Trailer is level going down the road Hitch I have gone over twice confirming it is setup proper. It is Husky round bar with 2 anti sway bars on it.

Truck I have added airlift 1000 to help stiffen it up which helped, got light truck tires on the truck So it should be able to handle it close to the max for the truck but still within limits.

Does anyone else experience this issue ?

Nothing better then an evening by the campfire.
