I just installed the same 2-month-wait-from-China dimmer.

Works great !

Ignore the disco flashing settings though.

I had the same long wait, but it's worth it! It has worked perfectly since I installed it.

good luck with the installation.

Sorry I don't have any pictures, but the trailer is in my storage place and I didn't think to take pictures when I installed it.

I installed the dimmer control unit right at the end of the LED light strip where the wires come out of the TT. The biggest challenge was getting enough slack in the existing wiring to cut them and splice in the dimmer control unit. I was able to get enough slack by loosening the awning support from the trailer side wall up at the top (the wires go into the trailer behind the support arm). Snip, snip, twist, twist and the controller was hooked into the circuit. Red wire to red wire and black wire to black wire. I used wire nuts filled with dielectric grease over the wires where they were twisted together to provide some weather proofing and corrosion resistance. The last step was to use a couple of tie wraps to secure the LED control unit.

It isn't necessary to separate the step light. When you turn on the switch in your trailer for the LED light & the step light, you apply power to the entire circuit. You can turn off the LED light with the remote for the LED dimmer. It has no effect on the step light at all. Now you can have the step light on with or without the LED light under the awning, and the LED light can be dimmed. Pretty cool!

The entire installation took about 30 minutes.

Good luck!

I'm sure you're correct about a dimmer. Only the hot wires for the lights are behind the switches.

I think in order to put the dimmer in the switch location you would need to run a separate ground to the switch and then to the awning lights

I haven't put a dimmer on my 24rls' patio lights, but I did install a separate switch for the light under the steps. Turned out to be simple. The hot wires for both the patio strip and the step light go separately up to the original switch. I just cut the one for the step light off the orig switch and moved it to the new switch I installed. I can't tell you which was which. They were both orange. Now the orig switch just controls the patio light strip.

BTW - there is enough room inside the wall behind the switches to install a dimmer or remote control. I was thinking it would be nice to have a remote for the power awning. For the time being, I stand outside while my wife presses the awning switch. I don't want to roll a twig or leaves up in the awning.
