It's funny how when we first saw the AR one 18 BH, it seemed enormous. Our "history" is pop ups, VW westfalia, Rialta, very small TT. now it just doesn't seem huge, but still big. I know people classify it as a small trailer, but I guess all things are relative to one's experience and where they like to camp. We like boon docking, finding out of the way spots in wilderness areas. this trailer is bigger than most you would take into such settings. I guess we will see!

I like it too! it seems the best compromise of size and features. Hope it's well built and is a good one.

I like the AR-1. Perfect mix of economy and small size with great features and seemingly well built. Happy times ahead, it sounds like!! Enjoy!!

we picked it up yesterday and towed it home, a distance of about 50 miles. our tow vehicle is a v6 toyota, 2005 vintage, with a big v6, tacoma chassis and 5 speed auto transmission. It is 2 wd and rated to tow 5000#. because of previous campers, we have learned the importance of packing light. I do most of the driving, and was delighted with the way the new AR one handled hills and passing trucks. The mpg read-out indicated we got 14.5 mpg. Our very small trailer, which we towed up to the dealership to trade in, allowed us to get 14.9 mpg. So no real difference. I am a believer of low speed towing, for both economy and safety. I was driving between 55-60 mph.

We love this trailer!! it has features that are so nice! Even the dinette that we didn't like, is pretty OK. power awning with lights, stereo dvd mp3 player, electronic ignition on the water heater......such luxury for someone coming from a basic older camper!

a greeting

we have just purchased a 2016 AR one 18QB. I am excited to have a tt that is bigger than what we had. almost anything would be bigger, it was a 14' fun finder. loved the little guy, just not enough room.

I hope the AR1 is all I hope it to be. not crazy about the L shaped dinette "bench", can't call it a "seat", but love everything else. (well, no sink in bathroom) but love the size, and just hope it isn't too big for us.

I'm glad to find a starcraft owners forum, as I find internet support so helpful!
