if you ever come out this way there is a nice place called grizzly discovery center that is really nice. they have bears and wolves and raptors. it is very informative and very educational, even for me! it is in west Yellowstone Montana.

this is bear country, both grizzly and black. cant go anyplace, even eastern Idaho without being in grizzly country. when I am boondocking I always have my 12 gauge right by my chair, not that it would help me though , that last incident happened so fast probably could not have grabbed it quick enough. it does add another element to the camping experience. this is one reason why we traded the pop up in on the starcraft.

That is crazy close!

I would be scared. Especially with the cub being around the mother.

Do you camp often in bear country?

taken from doorway of camper , next door neighbor yelled a bear was coming around the truck and we just had time to go into the camper. what a surprise! she and her cub were just wandering through not paying any attention to us. now, if we were cooking dinner that could have been a different story.
yes, the sloped front of the trailer is nice but as far as aerodynamics It does not seem to help the mileage a whole lot. it tucks right behind the truck and with that sloping front end seems like one could get good fuel mileage. think the best I have got so far is 13.8. with the big trailer it usually averages 12.5 and that is 5000lbs heavier and is wider so sticks out on either side of truck. we have had a lot of comments on the trailer already and hard to go anywhere without someone asking what it is and how it tows. starcraft did a really nice job on these.

Some great pics..... stopped in at our local StarCraft dealer yesterday, needless to say it was sunday and it's been snowing, so no one around .... had to show the wife the looks of the new AR-one. Shape and color of 2015 is much nicer than my 2012, but that sloped front sacrifices interior room.... but it sure looks awesome!
Has to help with the aerodynamics though.

Our launch is flat up front and we can definitely feel it. I am sure my wallet does too at the gas pump.

I was sitting on the side of the table by the fire. it was almost dark so picture did not come out well.
Wait a minute.

You were outside when you took that picture?

Are you nuts!

Hi Bob.

Great looking camper. I do like the AR-Ones.

You bought your camper about the same time we did ours.

How many times did you get to take it out last season (assuming you live somewhere cold and put it in storage).

Oh, and welcome to the new forum!
