Usually one has to sort of force the tool into the slot. At the deepest part of the tool travel there is a keeper on both sides. The tool will go another 1/4 to 1/2 inch into the keepers once the tool is in all the way the radio will slide out, easily.

You can make the tool with a piece of sheet metal and tin snips. It’s just straight abeut 3 inches long and 3/8 of an inch wide ... truly nothing special

I gave up and removed the inside panel and was able to plug red and white rca into the back of the unit( audio out )in order to hook up my headphones so I could use them and my wife can listen to the overhead speakers

I have tried several times to remove the same unit with no luck. I have the 2 tools and insert them in the slots and nothing happens

Here's one of the head unit. It's tough to see around it.

I'm trying to remove the stock Furrion DV5100 but can't get the head unit to release from the cage. I didn't get the proper release arms from the dealer when purchased and I'm having a hell of a time getting any info from them. Is there an easy way to open the cabinet to remove it that way or any other tips?
