I have the 16RB and love it.

I also was skeptical of the wall board, but I have 4 showers in it and can say that its very apparent that the water is not soaking in at all. It feels textured, so its deceiving, but does appear to be completely water tight.

I would definitely like a larger shower curtain rod to expand the size of the shower, but I haven't been able to find anything for a corner shower system like the 16RB has.

I have installed a rounded shower rod in my 278BHS works great for anyone bigger than a child :) no issues i looked for one close t the same endcaps as the original. I took a picture with my phone before I went to the store. I bought an adjustable one.

mine has a surround so can not answer the other questions

Am concerned that there is no shower surround in stall. Is the wallboarding really that waterproof? Also, has anyone installed one of the collapsable shower rods that I've seen that give you more shoulder room? Thanks!
