keep blowing #30 fuse on hitch

Discussion for all discontinued or other model RVs. Don't own a Starcraft? That's ok, we'll let you sit around the fire too.

Mark the leg of the jack with a red tape wrap or something so you know to stop early. Also, you can replace the fuse with a resetable breaker so if it happens again it's easy to get it going again.

If you hold the switch until the jack hits the upper or lower limits the fuse will blow. Try releasing the switch a little before the limits are reached.

Yes. I cut the wires and soldered in a new holder has not blown since. I tried cleaning the old one first helped for a little while. Also I am always either plugged in at the campsite or plugged in to my truck before I use the electric jack

keep blowing #30 fuse on hitch

Post by matthewcreath » June 28th, 2018, 7:41 pm

hi. we bought a 2017 Starcraft Satellite and we keep blowing the fuse. it is the fuse that is in the wiring on the hitch area by the battery. when it blows, we have no power to the electric hitch or the unit itself. we replace, and everything works perfect. it blows at least once every trip. Any ideas?
